GREETINGS FROM THE STUDIO OF JANET TARJAN ERL

 www.tarjanstudio.com

Greetings art and nature lovers, friends, and family,

I‘ve been falling behind in keeping you informed of all the great art happenings and shows I’ve gotten into or will be exhibiting in soon, so here’s what’s new.

I apologize for getting this out so late, but this Saturday the 8th I will be at the Gallery in Mt. Shasta for the grand opening celebration.  The gallery has new owners and a fresh look, and I will have a nice collection of originals, plus I will be there from 12-4 p.m.  Hope you can come.

I’ve been very fortunate to get juried into a handful of very big international art competitions, so here’s the latest news on these exhibitions.

In April I was thrilled to receive the Butler Family Gold Medal Award (equivalent to first place) from the Emerald Spring Exhibition - an international juried art show hosted by the Emerald Art Center, in Springfield, Oregon.  The painting that won the award was my Bandon Beach Shorebirds oil painting.  Harry and I went to see the show on the opening night, and it was an excellent show.   I was very pleased with the great cash award given by the Butler family.  If I could just keep winning awards like that, I wouldn’t need to sell my paintings.

Coming this fall I will be exhibiting in these exhibitions.

I got my watercolor Mumford Bar, North Fork of the American River juried into the National Watercolor Society’s 89th Annual Exhibition.  This is a biggie, so I’m totally thrilled to get accepted.

My watercolor Devoted Flock just got juried into the 63rd Annual International Aqueous Open sponsored by the Pittsburgh Watercolor Society.  This is another big juried competition, so I’m thrilled to get into this show too.  This painting also exhibited at the Ross Ragland’s exhibition From the Field to the Table this past June.

My watercolor Waders at the Slough got juried into the 30th Annual International Marine Art Exhibition, at the Maritime Gallery in Mystic Connecticut.  This painting is a quick study of some Avocets and Sandpipers at Elkhorn Slough, California.  This is the big competition and exhibition for marine artists, so I feel honored to get into this show also.

Here’s some other good art news to share.

If you get the Siskiyou County Connection phone book, this year’s issue has my Shasta Valley Sandhill Cranes painting on the cover.  This is the same painting that was juried into last year’s international Bird’s in Art Exhibition.

I was featured as April Artist of the Month at the Favell Art Museum here in Klamath Falls.

I will be the featured artist at the up coming Sage Brush Rendevous in February 2010, at the Running Y Ranch Resort, Klamath Falls, Oregon.

I will be attending the Fall Festival, Sept 19th at the Running Y Ranch Resort in Klamath Falls.

Also, if you haven’t done so already, you’ve got to check out my T-shirts for sale online at Café Press or at Trekker Designs in Klamath Falls.  I have a big selection of great T-shirt illustrations I’ve done such as birds, wolves, bears, menopause and general humor and lots of fun and artistic stuff.  They make great gifts and great ways to express oneself.  Go to: http://www.cafepress.com/tarjanstudio

If you want more information on show dates and places, go to my Exhibits Page.

If you want gallery info go to my Gallery Reps. Page.

LASTLY, I CAN’T FORGET THIS!

If you receive this letter and don’t want to ever here from me again via email, then please email me, and I will remove you from this very special list.  I know I’ll sniffle about it because sharing with people like you is what I live for, but I’ll get over it.

Many Blessings!

Janet Tarjan Erl
