GREETINGS FROM THE STUDIO OF JANET TARJAN ERL www.tarjanstudio.com
Greetings art patrons and fans, friends, and family,
With the holidays approaching fast I wanted to let you know I'll be showing my work at the Klamath Arts Council's Autumnfest '09 Show, November 21 -21, at the Klamath County Fairgrounds, 10:00am - 5:00pm. This is the only holiday show I will be doing this year, so if you are looking for art for gifts or for yourself, this is a good show to come see me at. If you want to see some of the work I will have at the show go to Janet Tarjan Erl Original Artworks for Sale or Janet Tarjan Erl Art Reproductions for Sale.
After the holidays I will be the featured artist for the 32nd Annual Sagebrush Rendezvous Art Exhibit and Wine Tasting. This is a big art event in Klamath Falls, so I will have a good selection of art inspired by our beautiful region. I'm very honored to be the featured artist, plus this show should have many of our regions top professional artists exhibiting too, so I will be in good company. I'll send you more info on this later.
It seems that by the response I received from many of you from the last newsletter I sent over a month ago, that the previous newsletter I sent a month earlier did not go through. The contents of the missing newsletter were mostly about the handful of very big international art competitions I've been fortunate to get juried into this past year. I know this all seems boastful, but in the the art world, getting awards and accolaids from ones professional peers is good for the resume and good news for one's collectors because it acknowledges that an artist has achieved a very high standard of professionalism. In other words, it means that not only did you think my art was good, but the curators of museums and other famous artists who jury these shows thought my work was good too. Why would this even matter you ask? Because it means all that money you spend on my art isn't cheap, and it isn't cheap because I'm on par with the pros which basically means that according to the art world, you've made a good investment. So here's the latest news on these exhibitions, achievements, etc. . .
In April I was thrilled to receive the Butler Family Gold Medal Award (equivalent to first place) from the Emerald Spring Exhibition - an international juried art show hosted by the

My watercolor Devoted Flock just got juried into the 63rd Annual International Aqueous Open sponsored by the Pittsburgh Watercolor Society. This is another international juried competition, so I am thrilled I gott into this show too.
My watercolor Waders at the Slough got juried into the 30th Annual International Marine Art Exhibition,at the Maritime Gallery in Mystic Connecticut. This painting is a quick study of some Avocets and Sandpipers at Elkhorn Slough, California. This is the big competition and exhibition for marine artists. As a result of getting into this show, I was also invited to participate in the Maritime Miniatures for Maritime masters show which is coming up later this month and is sponsored by the Maritime Gallery.
This past fall I was also juried in as a member of the Watercolor Society of Oregon.
If you get the Siskiyou County Connection phone book, this years issue has my Shasta Valley Sandhill Cranes painting on the cover. This is the same painting that was juried into last years international Bird's in Art Exhibition.
I was featured as April Artist of the Month at the

Also, one last bit of art related news. The National Watercolor Society is rejuvenating the commercial building they have long wanted and finally purchased, The dream was always to make it a showplace, a gallery, a lyceum, and a museum. It is in San Pedro, California, and, of course, they are still short of funds to complete their project. If you are short of good causes to donate to, then this is a good one. To find out more go to their website at http://www.nationalwatercolorsociety.org/buildingfund.html
LASTLY, I CAN'T FORGET THIS!
If you receive this letter and don't want to ever here from me again via email, then please email me, and I will remove you from this very special list. I know I'll sniffle about it because sharing with people like you is what I live for, but I'll get over it.
Be Happy!
Janet Tarjan Erl
